CS1.6 ESWC Masters announce seedings

The organisers of the ESWC Masters have today announced the system that will be used to seed teams at the event to take place in conjunction with the iPower Games on the 4th-6th July 2008. The tournament has featured qualifiers over the past few months, and will feature attendances from teams all around the globe including Asia, North America, South America and Europe.

Teams have been grouped into three categories based upon their reputation, previous results in ESWC competition and other major tournaments. The three categories that have been created are: Top seeds, High seeds and The Challengers.

The tournament is well sponsored, and tournament PCs will be top range Packard Bell and Intel computers and selected games will be played on the main stage. The tournament format has been released in conjunction with the seedings, with four groups of five teams and two teams advancing to a eight team playoff structure. The groups will be announced on June 20th.
